The best nightmare...
I had the best nightmare! I was getting ready for the first day of school when my AP entered my classroom and waded towards me through bulletin board border and reading corner bean bags. She proceeded to inform me that it would best benefit the school if I moved to 1st grade. So, I haul all teaching materials, which is worse than moving my actual apartment, to the first grade hallway. Fast forward to the worst first day of school ever. Now, this is similar to the typical reoccurring first day nightmare that most teachers have this time of year. Crazy kids, no curriculum, etc... But this one was different. I absolutely could not function, my first graders didn't listen to anything I said and were completely incapable of doing anything that I requested. After an extremely stressful night filled with snotty 6 year olds and a panic ridden me attempting to handle 1st grade, I wake up. Here is the best part... I am so overjoyed and thankful that in the real world I get the privilege of teaching 5th grade. The 5th grade experience is new and a bit scary for me, but nothing can be worst than that nightmare. What a blessing! I am now an excited, eager, confident 5th grade teacher!

One week ago...
One week ago, I was finally convinced to join in on the blogging fun. I spent a wonderful weekend with wonderful people who live all over the state, all of whom blog. So here I am! I also decided that I have something to blog about...
Being a part of Leslie's wedding was one of the happiest weekends of my life. I didn't expect to be impacted as much as I was. Watching my friend, who in my opinion deserves the very best life has to offer, make this step in her life filled me with joy. Actually, it overflowed me with joy. I can't remember the last time I was in such a perptually good mood. I smiled and laughed more than ever. I learned for the first time the beauty of being overwhelmed with happiness for someone else. It was an amazing weekend of friends and laughing and fun and celebration for Les and Justin... What could be better?
